James Breckenridge
James
Breckenridge has worked in the entertainment industry for over 20
years. In 1995, his years of professional training and experience
culminated in the founding of The PlayCrafters Group. As its director,
he specializes in working one-on-one with playwrights and screenplay
writers to develop producible scripts. Through objective feedback,
he helps writers to focus on the essential elements of their stories
and to achieve results that specifically serve the script, as well
as fulfill the writer’s original vision. This lies at the
heart of the very same work Mr. Breckenridge has been engaged in
for the past two decades. As a director and creative writing consultant,
he has helped in the staging and conceptualizing of over 200 dramatic
scripts. Requests for his services have come from writers as far
away as Norway, Turkey and the U.K.
In addition to private coachings and consultations, Mr. Breckenridge
has taught screenwriting for The Bryn Mawr Film Institute, the Bucks
County Writer’s Room and the Lehigh Valley Writer’s
Academy. He has been a featured speaker at The Philadelphia Writers’
Conference, The Algonquin Film Festival, The Bucks Fever Film Fest,
and since it’s inception, has presented seminars at the SCREENWRITING
EXPO in Los Angeles, California where he was named “star speaker.”
Mr. Breckenridge recently served on the Theatrical Motion Pictures
Nominating Committee for the Screen Actors Guild Awards and as juror
for The Philadelphia Film Festival’s Feature Film Competition
and the Bucks Fever Film Fest. His script development service was
recently rated in the top ten and recommended as one of the best
of the best buys in Creative Screenwriting magazine’s
review of script consultants from all across the country.
